Adventurous Cooking: Rustic Plum and Port Tart

After a year of not knowing whether our plum tree would survive the pruning I'd given it last Winter, it finally became very clear we were in for more than just a tree that survived. We were in for a bumper crop. I had no idea we were already into plum season until I began finding plums all over the yard!

In order to celebrate the bounty, and more surprisingly, not killing our little darling, we decided to bake something delicious from Bonappetit.

Chris found this recipe for a Rustic Plum Tart. It was an appropriate day to celebrate life, plus, I got to drink Port and take photographs while Chris baked this lovely pastry. Does it get any better than that?

I have to be candid, this glass of Port never made it into the recipe, but I certainly enjoyed it.
