You know you've been working ridiculously hard when you need an full weekend day to recover. I've been having quite a few of those weekends in a row lately. Fogust has been the perfect sleepy Saturday companion.
It wasn't until I was editing these photos that I realized, even with the lazy days we've been exploring quite a few new places in the city. Here are a few of our new favorite things.
Haight-Ashbury - Aviator Nation
Chris and I ventured into The Haight the other day to pick up some incense and I stopped in my tracks when we passed this store. I'd never heard of Aviator Nation before but fell in love with their soft hand made colorful hoodies the moment I saw them in the window.
We picked up my favorite sweatshirt ever! Unfortunately for me, it's a men's large. Chris doesn't often find interest in clothing, so when he does, we snag it.
I will simply dream about the day I offer to do the laundry, out of kindness, with a chance opportunity to shrink my beloved sweater to appropriate size for myself after which I shall run around like the retro gypsy I was meant to be. One can always dream.
Inner Sunset - Snow Bird Coffee
This small coffee shop had won my heart this weekend. My favorites: Almond Milk Latte, Cafecito, and their Dirty Chai.
Inner Sunset - Sunday Farmer's Market
After caffeinating at Snow Bird, we walked right by this fantastic farmer's market less than a block away.
Obviously, the flowers came home with us.
Wholly Basil! The bunch is bigger than my bouquet!
Since we'd splurged at the farmer's market, we decided to cook a legitimate, farm to table brunch instead of dining out. Perfect fuel for the rest of our day.
Fresh From the Farmers Market:
Free-range Eggs, sunny side up
Fresh Basil
Heirloom Tomato
Acme Olive Loaf Bread
Outer Sunset - Beachside Coffee Bar & Kitchen's Strawberry Shortcake
This was the first time we'd seen this mouthwatering dessert in their pastry display.
Lucky Number 14, we snagged a table, opposite of the wind tunnel blasting on shore from Ocean Beach.
The Mission - Dandelion Chocolate
While joining a friend for an evening cheese plate at Mission Cheese we noticed an absurd line of people trailing down the sidewalk from Dandelion Chocolate. As any true San Franciscan's would when they see a line, we naturally felt compelled to join it. We immediately came to understand what the fuss was all about. Two Words: Drinking Chocolate.
Drop Mic.
As if drinking pure sweet soothing cocoa wasn't enough, each drink comes with free marshmallows.
These Mocha's are next on my Try List!
They not only serve food and drink but they make all of their chocolate directly in house. I highly suggest this experience. If you go in the later evening the lines aren't quite as absurd.
With all of this decadent dining, I'm looking forward to hitting the gym hard and falling right back into another slumberly Saturday. Is it Friday yet?
